The event is also projected to attract about 100,000 weekend visitors.
Jose Vicente de los Mozos, Chairman of IFEMA's Executive Committee, emphasized IFEMA MADRID's pivotal role in international tourism and FITUR's significance as a leading figure in promoting Spain's global presence. He expressed pride in FITUR's continuous operation during the pandemic, outperforming other major international events in participation.
FITUR's emphasis on sustainable development will be evident in the business-focused offerings, highlighting economic, social, and environmental sustainability, along with innovation and forward-thinking content in the tourism industry. FITUR's commitment to specialized areas aids in advancing various sectors linked to tourism, each crafting a unique tourism strategy.
Additionally, FITUR Next, the fair’s sustainability observatory, organizes numerous activities. This year, it spotlights tourism's role in rejuvenating regions, offering a comprehensive program of presentations and recognizing top tourism initiatives. These initiatives align with Sustainable Development Goals, aiming to mitigate depopulation, boost employment and local spending, reduce rural inequalities, and enhance rural-urban balance for sustainable growth.
