Gambia's new Tourism Minister emphasizes collaboration among staff to expand the tourism industry
On Monday, 25th March 2024, Abdoulie Jobe, Gambia's new Minister of Tourism and Culture, convened his first staff meeting in Banjul at the Ministry's conference room, where he urged his team to collaborate effectively to fulfill the Ministry's objectives and mission.
Minister Jobe highlighted the critical role of the Ministry, noting its significant contribution of 15 to 20 percent to the country's GDP. He stressed the importance of teamwork for the advancement of the Ministry and, by extension, the nation. "My office is always open for the progress of our Ministry and our country," he affirmed.
He further encouraged the staff to approach their duties with seriousness and punctuality. Jobe emphasized accountability and the importance of completing tasks timely, advising staff to seek solutions proactively if challenges arise. He called for dedication and decorum in the workplace, pointing out the importance of productive use of time in the office.
Additionally, Jobe highlighted the importance of enhancing staff capabilities as a key factor in the tourism sector's growth. He described capacity building as essential for development.
In response, the staff expressed their commitment to supporting the new Minister, assuring him of their cooperation and readiness to contribute to the Ministry's success.
