Africa World Airlines (AWA) has been honored with the prestigious Excellence in Health, Safety, Environment & Quality-2024 award for Aviation in Ghana. The accolade was presented at the 7th Ghana – West Africa Business Excellence Awards held on May 10th at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.

This award underscores AWA’s unwavering commitment to safety, not only in reaching destinations but also in ensuring the highest safety standards for its passengers.

For the past 11 years, AWA has diligently refined its safety protocols, striving for impeccable outcomes with a goal of zero accidents.

Since its inception, AWA has prioritized safety as a fundamental value embedded in all operations. This dedication has earned the airline commendation from aviation regulatory bodies, including the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), for its exemplary safety record and steadfast commitment to excellence.

Mr. Jonathan Appiah and Captain Victor Aryeetey accepted the award on behalf of Africa World Airlines.

“Ensuring safety is not merely a goal; it is our solemn duty and unwavering commitment. Every individual who boards our aircraft is invaluable, and their safety is our paramount promise. This award is not just recognition of our achievements but a reminder of the profound trust our passengers place in us,” said Head of Safety, Captain Victor Aryeetey.

Head of Commercial, Jonathan Kofi Appiah, reiterated AWA’s dedication to sustainable practices and its commitment to making significant impacts beyond financial gains.

He expressed gratitude to the AWA staff for their support and for maintaining high operational and customer service standards.

“While we strive for on-time departures, operational and safety reasons sometimes necessitate cancellations and delays,” he added.

Mr. Jonathan Appiah encouraged the public to download the “Africa World Airlines” mobile app from the Google Play Store and App Store, hinting at upcoming discount fares across all AWA networks, including Accra, Kumasi, Tamale, Takoradi, Lagos, and Abuja.

The event was organized by KN Unique Communications and endorsed by the West Africa Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The awards ceremony recognizes individuals and companies that have significantly contributed to the development of the business sector over the years.
