Dana Air CEO Meets Keyamo, Plans Investment In New Aircraft
Mr. Jacky Hathiramani, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dana Air has met with Mr. Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace development, ostensibly on the suspension of the airline and how it would recommence flight services.
Also, the airline is planning to improve its fleet of aircraft by investing in more airplanes.
A statement by the airline said that Dana Air has made significant progress in its commitment to revitalise its operations, while the board of the airline was currently in talks with a new investor who the statement said was eager to infuse fresh ideas, a different fleet of state-of the-art aircraft type and possibly new hires signaling a promising future for the airline and the industry as a whole.
Hathiramani said: “In line with its vision for growth, innovation and excellence, Dana Air is eagerly anticipating the arrival of brand new aircraft, which will not only enhance its operational efficiency, but also elevate the overall passenger experience.

He further expressed sincere apologies to the airline’s loyal customers and valued partners for the temporary absence from the market and any inconveniences that may have experienced in recent weeks.
He However, he reassured the customers of Dana Air’s commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and customer-centric services upon return soon.
Dana Air was suspended after the Lagos airport incident on April 23, 2024.
The aircraft, MD 82 with the registration number: 5N-BKI with 89 souls onboard; 83 passengers and six crewmembers, had departed Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja for Lagos before the incident.
