Nigeria is important to TAAG Angola Airlines
The management of TAAG Angola Airlines has said that the Nigerian travel market is important to its growth due to its resilience and excitement.
This is as the Southern African airline has unveiled plans to deployed Airbus aircraft series to the Nigerian route from its base in Luanda to replace the current Boeing 777 aircraft.
Mr. George Mawadri, Director of Sales, Africa, TAAG Angola, speaking in Lagos on Wednesday at an expanded travel trade forum, said that the management of the airline had identified Nigeria robust travel industry as a critical investment opportunity.
According to him, the airline would respond positively to the Nigerian market with the deployment of brand-new airbus series aircraft to replace the current B777 wide-bodied aircraft it’s operating on the Lagos-Luanda route and to many of its established routes like Madrid, Lisbon, Sao Paulo and London.
Mawadri, further informed that the layout time in Luanda, its operating hub, was systematically being addressed with the introduction of additional daily flights out of Lagos on Tuesdays and Saturdays, apart from its night flights on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The day flights depart at 2p.m on the days specified.
He said: “We are working hard to respond to the expectations and travel plans of our customers and that is why we are here to listen to your concerns and feedback so that we can serve you better and help sustain this very vibrant market.”
On concerns and anxieties over refunds, the airline chief marketer for the Africa Region, explained that requests for refund were promptly treated and scored TAAG Angola high in meeting the refund expectations of trade professionals, which are not complicated.
Speaking earlier, Olushola Olajide, Sales Manager, Nigeria, TAAG Angola Airlines, encouraged the trade professionals to take advantage of the airline’s seamless connectivity to emerging tourism destinations in Windhoek, Namibia, Moputo, Sao Tome and Principe, Cape Town and Johannesburg to provide tours and adventure offerings.
Olajide posited that Luanda, the Capital of Angola, shares the same rich, vibrant multi-African culture with Lagos.
Olajide informed that there is a big Nigerian community in Luanda, good affordable hotels and restaurants with clean beaches stretching into miles of gregarious excitement and surrealism.
He added that the airline was gradually rebranding and changing its fleet so as to completely provide the needed travel experience for its customers, assuring that those with group tours or trade visits to any of its destinations beyond Luanda would be assisted with stress-free departure, transit and arrival protocols for their clients apart from other incentives.
Besides, Mrs. Gloria Atumu, General Manager, TAAG Angola Airlines, expressed the carrier’s gratitude to the trade professionals and he National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA) for good trade relations and support to the airline.
She noted that the large turnout of the trade consultants was indicative of the acceptance and availability of the airline to meet the needs of passengers and the travel professionals.
Over 150 trade professionals physically attended the Lagos forum, while others from other states in Nigeria joined online.
