Etihad Airways, the UAE’s national airline, made its inaugural landing in Denpasar, Bali, on Wednesday, marking the commencement of regular flights between Abu Dhabi and this idyllic island destination.

The first flight, EY476, was celebrated at Zayed International Airport before departure on Tuesday evening. Upon arrival in Denpasar, the aircraft received a traditional water cannon salute, with Etihad’s Captains proudly waving the UAE and Indonesian flags from the cockpit to commemorate the launch of this direct route.

Operating four times weekly, the new service utilizes a state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner featuring Etihad’s acclaimed Business Studios and Economy Smart seats. Offering 28 Business and 262 Economy seats equipped with Etihad’s E-Box entertainment system, in-seat power, and in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity, passengers can anticipate a comfortable and enjoyable journey complemented by top-notch service and hospitality.

“I am honoured to be welcomed to the island today and proud to bring a full flight on our inaugural journey into Bali,” said Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer.“We are thrilled to add Bali to the growing list of destinations we serve directly from Abu Dhabi. It becomes our second destination in Indonesia, adding to the capital Jakarta. We look forward to connecting our guests from the Middle East, Europe and across our global network with the Indonesian tropical island.”

Bali beckons adventure seekers, social butterflies, and those seeking cultural enrichment, tranquility, and wellness experiences.

For an unforgettable vacation, travelers can bask in the beauty of Bali’s stunning beaches, renowned for surfing, or venture inland to explore the verdant rice terraces and landscapes around Ubud, the island’s cultural hub.

Guests booking flights to Bali via Abu Dhabi on etihad.com can enhance their journey with a complimentary hotel stay through Etihad’s Abu Dhabi Stopover program. This allows visitors to enjoy Abu Dhabi’s diverse offerings, from pristine beaches and desert vistas to cultural landmarks and exceptional dining experiences.

In recent weeks, Etihad has expanded its flight network with new routes to Al Qassim in Saudi Arabia, Jaipur in India, and seasonal services to Antalya, Málaga, Mykonos, Nice, and Santorini, providing travelers with even more destinations to explore.
