Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park: Upgrading of the Kalahari Tented Camp commences Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park: Upgrading of the Kalahari Tented Camp commences

The South African National Parks (SANParks) management of Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park has announced it is in the process of upgrading the roofs of the units at Kalahari Tented Camp. The upgrading  commences today (21 October 2024) and is expected to be completed by 15 December 2024.

The KalahariTentedCamp is located about three km from the Mata-Mata Rest Camp where Kalahari Tented Camp residents can refuel and get basic supplies at the shop.

The camp, which boasts 15 desert tents, is designed in such a way that residents feel they have only themselves and the desert for company. The KalahariTentedCamp is accessible by 4x4 vehicles, though a high-clearance vehicle is recommended due to the rugged roads within the park. Check-in and check-out processes are done through the Mata-Mata Rest Camp.
