According to the latest reports, 21 beaches in Durban have been deemed safe and are now open for swimming, with operating hours set from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. These beaches include the popular uShaka, Addington, Battery Beach, Bay of Plenty, Point Beach, North Beach, South Beach, Wedge Beach, Thekwini Beach, Laguna Beach, Country Club, mDloti Main, uMhlanga Main, Bronze Beach, Westbrook, uMgababa, Brighton, Winkelespruit, Toti Main Beach, Pipeline Beach, and Warner Beach. Regrettably, two beaches, Anstey's Beach and Reunion, remain closed due to ongoing water quality concerns. However, the municipality has clarified that recreational activities other than swimming are still permitted at these closed beaches.
