Air Peace has successfully maintained its International Air Transport Association Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) Certification, achieving this milestone for the sixth consecutive time.

In a statement from Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, the airline's spokesperson, it was emphasized that this certification reflects Air Peace's unwavering commitment to upholding the highest global safety standards in aviation, solidifying its reputation as a leader in the industry. During the presentation ceremony, Mr. Patrick Achurefe, Head of Quality at Air Peace Limited, welcomed attendees and praised Dr. Allen Onyema, Chairman of Air Peace, for his support throughout the demanding audit process.

Achurefe revealed that Air Peace first acquired the IOSA status in 2016, just two years after launching operations. He noted that since then, the airline has consistently met the rigorous standards necessary to maintain this prestigious recognition, achieving certifications in subsequent years. “I am thrilled that we have lived up to expectations, as the audit process managers displayed exceptional expertise and dedication,” Achurefe stated. At the event, Dr. Samson Fatokun, Area Manager for West and Central Africa at IATA, commended Air Peace as a source of pride for Nigeria.

He acknowledged the airline’s impressive achievements within just a decade of operations, asserting that these successes were not mere coincidences. Fatokun remarked that Air Peace's inclusion in the IOSA registry is a testament to its commitment to safety, operational excellence, and professionalism. He added, “This milestone is not only a victory for the airline but also a source of pride for Nigeria, showcasing that local carriers can operate at the highest international safety standards.” Dr. Onyema, who received the certification on behalf of Air Peace, expressed gratitude to the management team for their relentless effort in achieving this accomplishment.

He stated that the certification serves as a recognition of the dedication and determination of the board and management in maintaining safety standards and fostering a positive culture within the organization. “This sixth IOSA certification underscores our commitment to global safety standards. It confirms that we are on the right path and assures our passengers that their safety is our utmost priority. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our management team and staff for their extraordinary efforts in making this possible,” he said. Dr. Onyema also acknowledged President Bola Tinubu and Mr. Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, for their implementation of progressive policies that are transforming the aviation landscape in Nigeria.

He noted that under Keyamo’s leadership, Nigeria’s endorsement of the Cape Town Convention has unlocked new opportunities for the aviation sector. This move, he emphasized, will enhance the capabilities of local airlines, lower operational costs, and ultimately lead to more competitive airfares. Furthermore, he expressed gratitude to IATA for its support of the industry and for ensuring that African airlines like Air Peace have a voice on the global stage. The ceremony, held at the airline’s corporate headquarters in Lagos, was attended by senior executives of Air Peace, including Capt. Augustin Kamano (Director of Flight Operations), Capt. Gerald Udaya (Head of Training), Capt. Godfrey Ogbogu (Safety Manager), Dr. Ejike Ndiulo (Head of Corporate Communications), Ikwo Iyanam (Cabin Services Manager), James Bello (Head of IT), and Davids Odeyemi (Head of Sales and Business Development). By consistently adhering to and exceeding international safety standards, Air Peace continues to establish itself as a prominent figure in African aviation, a source of national pride for Nigeria, and a trusted choice for millions of passengers worldwide.
