Air Seychelles Achieves Dual Safety Certification: A Boost for Airport Confidence Air Seychelles Achieves Dual Safety Certification: A Boost for Airport Confidence

Air Seychelles, the national carrier, has announced the successful attainment of both the IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO)  and the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA)  certifications. This significant milestone, accredited by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in January 2025, reinforces the airline's commitment to safety  and operational excellence.

Achieving the ISAGO  certification, a first for Air Seychelles, involved a rigorous process that began in June 2023. An IATA-trained consultant  conducted a thorough analysis, followed by on-site training for key personnel in April 2024. The culmination was an exhaustive week-long audit in August 2024, focusing on areas like passenger handlingbaggage handlingaircraft ground movement, and cargo operations. For travel agents  selling flights via the airline or to the Seychelles, the ISAGO certification offers assurance of ground handling  meeting international safety standards.

The ISAGO  program is internationally recognized and designed for the oversight of ground handling service providers (GHSPs). By securing this certification, Air Seychelles  demonstrates a commitment to enhancing performance, reducing risks, and aligning with industry best practices. This accomplishment positions Air Seychelles  as a reliable partner for other airlines, potentially leading to increased traffic through the Seychelles. Travel agents  can leverage this reputation to promote the destination, highlighting the commitment to safety  and quality.

In addition to ISAGO, Air Seychelles  successfully completed the IOSA  renewal accreditation process, which assesses operational management and control systems. Adhering to over 900 international safety standards  underscores the airline's focus on global aviation safety. Sandy Benoiton, CEO of Air Seychelles, stated that these certifications reaffirm their dedication to maintaining the highest standards in ground operations and ensuring the safety and satisfaction of airline partners, passengers, and their own team. This is critical for travel agents  when selecting airlines for their clients, providing peace of mind and confidence in the airline's operations.

As an IATA  member since 2006, Air Seychelles’s ISAGO  registration is valid until August 2026, and the IOSA  accreditation until January 2027. Renewal audits will be conducted to ensure continuous improvement. This commitment to ongoing compliance underscores the airline's long-term dedication to safety  and operational efficiencyTravel agencies  can use this information as a selling point, assuring clients that Air Seychelles  consistently meets the highest global standards.
