Starting 1 June 2025, Emirates will reintroduce its third daily flight between Dubai and Rome, adding over 2,530 weekly seats to meet the growing demand for travel. This expansion enhances flexibility and connectivity for African travelers, solidifying Dubai’s position as a key transit hub for journeys to Europe and beyond.

The new service will be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, offering a premium travel experience with 8 private suites in First Class, 42 lie-flat seats in Business Class, and 310 spacious seats in Economy Class. Flight EK099 will depart Dubai at 03:30hrs, arriving in Rome at 07:40hrs. The return flight, EK100, will leave Rome at 11:30hrs and land in Dubai at 19:20hrs. These schedules are designed to ensure smooth connections to onward destinations.

This additional flight is strategically timed to improve links to key destinations across Emirates’ extensive network, including Melbourne, Sydney, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Mumbai, and Karachi. For African travelers, this development provides seamless access to Europe and Asia, making it an ideal choice for both leisure and business trips.

Emirates has been a prominent player in the Italian aviation market for over three decades, having launched its Rome services in 1992. Currently, the airline operates 42 weekly flights between Dubai and major Italian cities such as Milan, Venice, and Bologna, utilizing a mix of Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s. Additionally, Emirates offers a nonstop connection between Milan and New York JFK, further expanding its global reach.

In line with its commitment to innovation, Emirates plans to introduce its latest Airbus A350 on flights to Bologna, showcasing its dedication to fleet modernization and passenger comfort. Beyond aviation, the airline has fostered cultural ties through its sponsorship of AC Milan since 2007, connecting African football fans with the iconic Italian club.

For African travel agents, this expansion presents exciting opportunities. Emirates’ extensive African network, spanning 52 destinations, ensures easy access to the new service. The increased capacity allows agents to offer more competitive travel packages and promote multi-destination itineraries connecting Africa, Dubai, and Italy. This is particularly appealing for travelers seeking diverse experiences in one trip.

As Emirates continues to strengthen its presence in Europe, the reinstated third daily Dubai-Rome flight underscores the airline’s commitment to meeting passenger needs and supporting global tourism. This move is expected to boost trade, tourism, and cultural exchange, creating new opportunities for Africa’s travel industry professionals to thrive.
