Condor Expands South Africa Flights for 2025/2026 Winter Season Condor Expands South Africa Flights for 2025/2026 Winter Season

German leisure airline Condor is set to significantly enhance its long-haul operations to South Africa for the 2025/2026 European winter season, offering travelers more options to explore the country’s vibrant destinations. Starting 01 November 2025, Condor will increase its flights between Frankfurt Airport (FRA) in Germany and two of South Africa’s major cities: Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Daily Flights to Cape Town

Condor will upgrade its current five-weekly service to daily return flights between Frankfurt and Cape Town International Airport (CPT). This increase reflects the growing demand for travel to Cape Town, a city renowned for its stunning landscapes, cultural diversity, and world-class attractions such as Table Mountain and the Cape Winelands. The daily flights will provide greater flexibility for both leisure and business travelers, making it easier to plan trips to one of South Africa’s most iconic destinations.

More Flights to Johannesburg

In addition to the Cape Town expansion, Condor will also increase its flights between Frankfurt and OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg. The route will now operate three times per week, up from the current two weekly services. Johannesburg, as South Africa’s economic hub, is a key destination for business travelers, while also serving as a gateway to the country’s renowned safari experiences and cultural landmarks.

State-of-the-Art Airbus A330-900neo

Both routes will be operated by Condor’s modern Airbus A330-900neo, which offers a comfortable and efficient travel experience. The aircraft accommodates 310 passengers, including 30 in business class, 64 in premium economy, and 216 in economy. With its advanced design and enhanced fuel efficiency, the A330-900neo ensures a smooth and sustainable journey for passengers traveling between Europe and South Africa.

Boosting South Africa’s Tourism and Connectivity

Condor’s expanded operations come at a crucial time for South Africa’s tourism sector, which continues to recover and grow following the challenges of recent years. The increased flight frequencies will not only enhance connectivity between Germany and South Africa but also support the country’s efforts to attract more international visitors. Germany remains one of South Africa’s key source markets, with travelers drawn to the country’s diverse offerings, from its breathtaking natural landscapes to its rich cultural heritage.

For Cape Town, the daily flights are expected to further solidify its position as a top destination for European travelers, while Johannesburg’s increased connectivity will benefit both business and leisure tourism. The additional flights also provide opportunities for South African travelers to explore Germany and connect to Condor’s extensive network of European and international destinations.

Opportunities for African Travel Professionals

The expanded flight schedule presents exciting opportunities for African travel agents and tour operators. With daily flights to Cape Town and increased services to Johannesburg, travel professionals can offer more flexible and convenient itineraries for European travelers visiting South Africa. These routes also open up possibilities for multi-destination packages, combining Cape Town’s scenic beauty with Johannesburg’s urban energy and nearby safari experiences.

Additionally, Condor’s use of the Airbus A330-900neo, with its premium economy and business class options, allows agents to target a broader range of travelers, including those seeking luxury and comfort. Travel professionals can also leverage Condor’s connections through Frankfurt to promote South Africa as part of a larger European-African travel experience.
