Fastjet Zimbabwe Soars High with New Lusaka Link

Fastjet Zimbabwe has launched a new route connecting Harare (HRE) and Lusaka (LUN), marking a significant stride in regional air travel. This thrice-weekly service, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, employs a 50-seater Embraer ERJ145, ideal for regional hops. The inaugural flight touched down at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN) on April 9, 2025, at 06:50 hrs, signifying the start of enhanced connectivity between Zimbabwe and Zambia. This new route is poised to be a game-changer for travel professionals across Africa, offering fresh opportunities for both business and leisure travel.

This strategic move by Fastjet Zimbabwe strengthens the airline’s footprint in Southern Africa, complementing its existing network. Domestically, Fastjet Zimbabwe already connects key cities like Harare, Victoria Falls, and Bulawayo. Internationally, the airline serves Johannesburg from Harare, Bulawayo, and Victoria Falls, along with a direct link between Victoria Falls and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. The new Harare-Lusaka service is strategically timed for business travelers. Flights depart Harare at 06:00, arriving in Lusaka at 06:55, allowing a full business day. The return flight departs Lusaka at 07:25, arriving back in Harare at 08:20, enabling same-day trips. LUN, with its new Terminal 2 for international arrivals, offers ten check-in desks, a VIP lounge, duty-free shopping, and various dining options.  Ongoing renovations at LUN’s Terminal 1 further demonstrate a commitment to enhancing passenger experience.
