For travel professionals across Africa, exciting news from Emirates! The airline is expanding its global network and enhancing its passenger experience, creating new opportunities for African travel agents to connect their clients with key destinations worldwide.

In response to growing demand, Emirates is increasing capacity on several routes, including popular destinations for African travelers. Shanghai and Zurich will see more retrofitted Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft, while Milan gains a third daily flight. Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires will also benefit from expanded daily services. These enhancements offer more travel options and improved connectivity for passengers flying from Africa via Emirates' hub in Dubai.

Emirates' commitment to a premium travel experience is evident in its ambitious retrofit program. With one aircraft undergoing a complete refresh every three weeks, the airline is rapidly upgrading its fleet. Sixty aircraft have already been retrofitted since the program began in November 2022, showcasing Emirates' dedication to providing passengers with the latest cabin products and enhanced comfort.

The enhancements, effective from 26 October, include a third daily Boeing 777-300ER service to Milan (EK101/102) and daily flights to Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires (EK247/248). Shanghai will see an upgrade to A380 service on EK302/303, with a retrofitted Boeing 777 serving EK304/305. Singapore's third daily flight (EK314/315) will also be operated by an A380 this winter.

Looking ahead, Zurich's second daily flight (EK85/86) will be upgraded to an A380 from 1 February 2026, replacing the current retrofitted Boeing 777. Premium Economy will debut on EK87/88 with a newly retrofitted A380, also starting 1 February 2026. These upgrades offer African travel agents more opportunities to book their clients on premium cabins, enhancing their travel experience.

Emirates' retrofitted aircraft offer a superior experience across all cabin classes. The four-class Boeing 777 features 6 or 8 First Class suites, 38 or 40 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 256 Economy seats. The four-class A380 boasts 56 Premium Economy seats at the front of the main deck in a 2-4-2 configuration, offering generous space and amenities like in-seat charging and a side cocktail table.

For African travelers, Emirates' Premium Economy cabin offers an attractive middle ground between Economy and Business Class. With enhanced comfort, wider seats, and additional amenities, Premium Economy provides a more luxurious travel experience at a competitive price point. This is particularly appealing for long-haul flights between Africa and popular destinations like Zurich, Shanghai, and Singapore.
