Air Peace Becomes First Major Nigerian Corporate Supporter of NairaADay Secondary School in Abuja
Nigeria’s leading airline, Air Peace, has made a landmark contribution to the KNOSK (Knowledge, Skill and Kreativity) 100NairaADay Secondary School in Kuje, Abuja, becoming the first major Nigerian corporate body to provide significant support. The donation includes essential laptops and one-year scholarships for 20 students, a move hailed by the school’s leadership as breaking a “longstanding jinx.”
The support comes at a critical time as the nation transitions to Computer Based Testing (CBT) for major examinations. The laptops will enable KNOSK, which began operations in 2019 and currently serves over 180 students, to establish a dedicated CBT centre—an essential resource for its pupils.
Many students at KNOSK come from families unable to afford even the symbolic ₦100 daily fee. Despite these financial challenges, the school has delivered remarkable academic outcomes, including a 100% WAEC pass rate for its pioneer class and multiple high scores in JAMB examinations.
Co-founder Kingsley Bangwell emphasized the historic nature of Air Peace’s intervention, noting that although international embassies have previously offered aid, no major Nigerian corporation had stepped forward until now. He described the donation as both vital financial support and a powerful validation of their work, transforming children who once struggled with basic literacy into high-achieving students.
Air Peace Communications Analyst Hawa Oyinloye Alege expressed pride in the students’ determination and affirmed the airline’s commitment to supporting a community where dreams are nurtured despite adversity. Student beneficiaries, including Patience Omuata and Vivian Odizwe, shared heartfelt gratitude, underscoring the immediate impact of the scholarships and the critical need met by the laptops ahead of their CBT exams.
This initiative reinforces Air Peace’s strong legacy of humanitarian efforts and dedication to national development, positioning the airline not only as an aviation leader but also as a people-centered institution. The donation follows other recent community engagements, such as partnerships supporting children living with disabilities.
