The 100 years old railway lines in Uganda shall be revamp, as per media in Uganda and the Uganda governement.

Uganda Railways Corporation said the invest will be done in a few stages and the plan is to invest over all USD 267m. In a very first step, the company has received € 21.5m from the European Union (EU). The nexts steps are to raise the remaining funds from other international development lenders. The 1,266 km meter gauge line was built from the Bristish more than 100 years ago. the network is in bad shape and quite often not in use anymore.

Plans include also the repair of more than 500 cargo wagons.
