Buyout of Kenya Airways Investors?
Kenya is planning to bring all airline related business under one state roof; airports, handling agents and of course the Kenyan Airlines as well.
To achieve this plan, Kenya's Finance Minister plans to buyout Air France-KLM, local banks and more than 80,000 individual shareholders from Kenya Airways and delist the national carrier from the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE). In July 2019, the Kenyan parliament has voted to nationalize Kenya Airways in order to save it from high debts. Kenya Airways, as per the parliament decision, will be one out of four subsidiaries under an Aviation Holding Company.
