Eritrean Airlines acquires new airplane
Eritrean Airlines has received a new airplane. The Eritrean national airline received on November 28, 2019, a Boeing 737-400, which is registered as UR-CNP.
The aircraft has been leased from Yanair., a Ukrainian aircraft rental and charter flights specialist, which is a long-time partner of Eritrean Airlines. Only recently, the airline operated a 737-300 also being leased from Yanair. Based at Asmara International Airport, the national flagship carrier serves routes to Addis Ababa, Jeddah and Khartoum. In May 2019 the company announced the opening of a citypair to Kano, Nigeria, but it is not yet operational. In addition to the destinations mentioned above, Eritrean Airlines flew a few months ago to Cairo in Egypt and Djibouti.
