TK: CPT to IST - technical problems

A Turkish Airlines Airbus A330 which took off from Capetown with destination Istabul as TK 045 on January 2nd was facing technical problems, as it was impossible for the pilots to retract the landing gear.

The airplane stopped climbing and the pilots started to execute as per standrad instructions. The flight in total took more than four hours in order to burn fuel and was then diverted to Johannsburg, where it landed safely under the supervision of the airport's emmergency teams.
