No more cash payments in hotels?

prizeotel is a small budget hotel chain in Germany. prizeotel has announced they will not accept cash tp pay their invoices any longer.

A reason for this, prizeotel said the the collection and banking of cash was too expensive versus card payments. Is this a trend?
