The Félix-Houphouët-Boigny International Airport in Cote d’ivoire is to resume operation of international flights from July 1. This comes barely a week ago when domestic flights resumed in the Ivorian capital.

The Country’s Minster of Health Eugène Aka Aoulé revealed this after a national security council meeting last week. Land and sea boarders still remain closed until July 15. The Minister added that, travelers arriving in Côte d'Ivoire will be subjected to arrival checks and be monitored during their stay using GPS tracker systems,

The Ivorian national capital was placed under state of emergency during the early days of the coronavirus pandemic.

Côte d'Ivoire is one of the first African countries in West Africa to announce the resumption of its international flights to the country.

Following the development, Air France has announced a gradual resumption of scheduled flights from Paris to Abidjan from July 6, 2020.
