Rwanda: Passenger flights to resume on August 1st
Scheduled passenger flights to the Kigali International Airport are set to resume from August 1. The Country’s Ministry of Infrastructure confirms in a press statement issued today July 4. The statement said, crews, staff and airport operations are expected to adhere to guidelines developed by the Ministry of Health and recommendations of the ICAO Council on Aviation Recovery Taskforce.
"Rwanda's airports will reopen for scheduled commercial flight operations on 1 August 2020. To ensure the safety and health of passengers, crews and staff, airport operations will adhere to guidelines developed by the Ministry of Health and recommendations of the ICAO Council on Aviation Recovery Taskforce.’’
The Statement further added that all passengers including those in transits will be required to show proof of a covid-19 PCR negative test from a certified laboratory, taken with 72 hours of arriving in Rwanda. "All passengers including those in transit, will be required to show proof of a COVID-19 PCR negative tot from a certified laboratory, taken within 72 hours of arriving in Rwanda. For passengers entering Rwanda, a second PCR test will be conducted upon arrival, with results delivered within 24 hours during which time they will remain in designated hotels at own cost’’ it concluded.
