Angola: resumption of international flights subject to specific restrictions
The reopening of the air borders of Angola could be done under special conditions. According to the aeronautical information circular of the National Institute of Civil Aviation, dated July 3, 2020, and consulted by Lusa, flights to and from the country will only be 75% filled, for the sake of respecting social distancing on board. The Portuguese news agency adds that the companies present in Angola will reduce their usual frequencies by a third.
These will go up to two thirds, depending on the capacity of the corresponding countries to control passengers and assess epidemiological risks. The normal frequency will not be restored until the end of the compulsory quarantine is decreed. Nevertheless, the frequencies of international flights and the requirements in terms of tests could be revised according to the evolution of the epidemiological situation, and by "respecting the principle of reciprocity".
And as is now customary in the airline industry, passengers, prior to boarding, must present negative tests to the SARS-Cov-2, valid for up to 8 days, prior to the date of travel. They must also sign a declaration of quarantine in a public hospital center or in a hotel chosen by the Angolan health authorities. In addition, companies must take preventive measures vis-à-vis their staff, to minimize risks.
As a reminder, the Angolan borders have been closed since March 20, to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.
