Mali to open air borders today
"The air borders are open from July 25, 2020 from midnight" informs a decree issued this Friday by the Malian Prime Minister, Boubou CISSE.
The closure of air borders to commercial flights from countries affected by the coronavirus, was taken on March 17, when the country did not yet register any cases of Covid-19 infections. To date, Mali has 2503 positive cases including 1901 cured and 123 deaths.
This reopening should therefore naturally bring back the airlines that served the country before the crisis, such as Air France, Turkish Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines and Asky. It also heralds the imminent start of commercial activities of the new national company, Sky Mali, which obtained its aerial operating license (PEA) on July 21.
