Kenya Airways changes baggage policy ahead of operations relaunch
Ahead of the relaunch of regional and international flights on the 01st of August has Kenya Airways announced a key change vis a vis their more recent baggage policy.
In order to maximise auxiliary revenues had the airline some time ago limited checked baggage on regional flights to just one piece while key competitors, like RwandaAir and Uganda Airlines, continued to offer two pieces of checked baggage. Now, clearly under competitive pressure to match the offerings of their main rivals on regional routes, has Kenya Airways re-introduced a two checked pieces of luggage policy, no doubt delighting passengers. The airline has also reiterated a relaxed travel date and destination change policy for tickets now booked, in order to cushion any hard changes at destinations which may affect travelers in regard of sudden quarantine requirements or other regulatory measures. Following guidelines by ICAO and the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, but also Kenyan health authorities, has the airline also put into place new standard operating procedures to ensure ground staff, crews on board and passengers remain safe and healthy.
