Emirates resumes Cebu to Dubai service on August 20
“We salute Emirates for resuming flights between Cebu and Dubai. This is truly a heartening development, and the Mactan-Cebu International Airport gives our reassurance that we are more ready than ever to safely welcome back our passengers. We are indeed excited to take one more step towards our recovery,” said Atty. Steve Y. Dicdican, General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA).
“We are delighted to welcome the return of Emirates to Cebu offering seamless connectivity to Dubai and beyond. Every airline that commences a new route or resumes a route temporarily suspended due to the pandemic becomes a ray of hope for travel choices and a brighter and safer future. We recognize the tremendous challenges airlines have had to overcome to resume routes and so we are truly grateful that Emirates selected Cebu as one of its early routes to resume services,” said Andrew Acquaah-Harrison, Chief Executive Advisor of GMR MEGAWIDE Cebu Airport Corporation, the private operator of MCIA. “In partnership with Emirates, MCIA will continue to enhance connectivity to the Middle East, especially for Filipinos living in Visayas and Mindanao,” he continued.
“We are pleased to restart our operations to Cebu once again and resume our operations to all three points in the Philippines. This is a significant milestone in our recovery, and we are delighted to be able to serve our customers across the country in an efficient manner, helping passengers to return home or connect to other destinations in our growing network. We would like to thank the authorities for making this possible and look forward to welcoming travelers onboard. With comprehensive safety measures in place, in the air and on the ground, Emirates is committed to ensuring the health and well-being of passengers, crew and our employees at every step of the journey,” said Satish Sethi, Country Manager for Emirates-Philippines.
Emirates first launched its Cebu-Dubai route on March 30, 2016 with a two-class Boeing 777-300ER.
