Kenya Tourism Board to be consumed in a new State Merger
The Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) is to be consumed in a proposed merger of 4 other state entities into a single company. The Kenya Tourism Board join Invest in Kenya, Export Promotion Council, Kenya Year Book and Brand Kenya to be enjoined into a new company called Promotion Kenya Board.
Although no official reasons have been given for this latest information, VoyagesAfriq sources indicate that it is to rationalise the roles of the entities and make them more efficient.
The impact of the coronavirus has contributed significantly to this latest development. The latest information is expected to result in some job losses and has already created low morale amongst the entities.
First quarter of 2021 is penned down as the date for the roll out of the new merger.
