Air Seychelles will occasionally serve its regional network next winter
Between November 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021, Air Seychelles will serve its routes to South Africa, Mauritius and Israel. The one leading to India by regular flights will remain suspended but the Seychelles parastatal will continue to offer charters to Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
From next month, Air Seychelles will resume “limited” passenger flights on its regional network. According to an announcement made on September 30, this one-off service will run from November 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021, and on all 3 routes concerned. Thus, the Seychelles parastatal will initially offer a weekly flight to Johannesburg. From 1 December, the frequency of flights to the South African city will increase to three per week.
The route to Mauritius will also start with one connection per week, before increasing to two weekly rotations a month later. Tel Aviv, the Israeli capital, will start and remain with two weekly flights. As its regular trips to Mumbai remain suspended due to restrictions due to Covid-19 in India, Air Seychelles will continue to operate charter flights on demand to the Indian megalopolis, but also to Ahmedabad.
The carrier 40% owned by Etihad Airways has resumed its domestic operations since May 4, with the Mahé - Praslin line. Before the health crisis, it offered more than 350 scheduled domestic flights per week, including charter services.
