Ouagadougou International Airport has acquired 3 buses for the transfer of passengers. With a capacity of more than 40 places each, and adapted for people with reduced mobility, they will be put into service from November 1, 2020. Their operation will be provided by the SISSIMAN Tours group.

From November 1, 2020, the transfer of passengers from Ouagadougou international airport will be on board 3 new buses. The vehicles were officially accepted on Tuesday, October 20, by the Burkinabè Minister of Transport, Urban Mobility and Road Safety, Vincent T. Dabilgou. They will be operated by the SISSIMAN Tours group, responsible for shuttles within the platform.

These King Long brand buses are equipped with dynamic Cummings engines. They are each 12 meters long by 2.55 wide and 3.19 high, with a capacity of more than 40 places. They are equipped with straps for standing, and wheelchair access ramps for people with reduced mobility. They are also equipped with five surveillance cameras and monitors for broadcasting information and advertising spots.

For the delegate for national aeronautical activities and manager of Burkina's airports, these acquisitions are a further step towards modernizing the infrastructure. "We are in a position where we have to continuously improve services at the airport, because it is a very competitive industry. I'm happy because today we are around 650,000 passengers a year. However, three years ago, we were at 500,000 passengers per year, since 2012 ”, says Dr Thomas Hyacinthe Compaore.
