Travellers to Mozambique with a negative PCR test will be exempt from undergoing a quarantine period when entering the country. A PCR test needs to be taken within 72 hours before arrival.

The previous regulations stipulated that all visitors must undergo a mandatory 10-day quarantine. Anyone who tests positive, or who has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, will be required to self-isolate for a period of 14 days.

Anyone who does not present a negative COVID-19 test will need to self-isolate for 14 days. Children under 11 are exempt from the test requirement. South Africans do not need to obtain a visa for leisure travel to Mozambique and may visit the country visa-free for up to 30 days.
