Binter returns to Africa with 2 rotations per month to Mauritania Binter returns to Africa with 2 rotations per month to Mauritania

Binter returns to Africa on November 11, with 2 flights per month between Grand Canaria and Nouakchott in Mauritania. The route will be operated by Embraer E195-E2. Binter will compete on this route with Swiftair. Before the pandemic, Binter also offered flights to Senegal, Cape Verde, The Gambia and Morocco.

From November 11, Binter will reconnect the Canary Islands to Mauritania. In a press release published on Wednesday, November 4, the Spanish company announced the relaunch of its route between Las Palmas de Gran Canaria airport and Nouakchott. The link will be operated, in Embraser E195-E2, once every two weeks (Wednesday).

The regional transporter justifies relaunching this route by improving the health situation in Mauritania, and out of concern "to actively contribute to maintaining connectivity, and to the tourist and economic revival of the two countries".

The resumption of the link between the Spanish islands and Mauritania marks Binter's return to Africa, since the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic. The company is thus eyeing the market share of Swiftair, which offers 1 weekly flight between the Canary Islands and Mauritania. Before the pandemic, Binter also offered flights to Senegal, Cape Verde, The Gambia and Morocco.
