Royal Zambian Airlines starts scheduled ops on December 17
Royal Zambian Airlines, a subsidiary of Royal Air Charters, will launch its scheduled flights on December 17th. For its launch, it will offer 4 weekly flights on the Lusaka - Johannesburg route.
Its fleet includes two Embraer E120LR and one E145LR. This is what Emmanuel Kalombe, general manager and director of operations, of the private Zambian company, told Ch-aviation on Friday, December 11. In a statement issued nine days earlier, the subsidiary of charter specialist Royal Air Charters announced that it will serve the Lusaka - Johannesburg route.
It will offer 4 weekly flights (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday) between the Zambian capital and the South African city. The link will be operated by Embraer 120ER with 30 seats. The newcomer will face competition from Proflight Zambia, Airlink and RwandAir. Zambia Airways, whose take-off is imminent, also plans to serve this route.
Royal Zambian Airlines was officially incorporated last May. “Even though the company operates as a department within the Royal Air Charters brand, and exists commercially as a subsidiary, Royal Zambian Airlines is a marvel in its own right,” says the company. The transporter has a fleet of 2 Embraer 120ERs, plus 1 Embraer 145LR with 50 seats belonging to its parent company. Since 2007, Royal Air Charters has been the leading provider of private air travel in Zambia.
