Oman Air reconnects with Zanzibar and Dar Es Salaam, its 2nd and 3rd African services Oman Air reconnects with Zanzibar and Dar Es Salaam, its 2nd and 3rd African services

Oman Air has resumed regular flights to Tanzania. Since February 4, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman has reopened the Muscat-Zanzibar-Dar Es Salaam route.

This route, operated twice a week (Thursday and Saturday), is served without competition by Boeing 787. Oman Air had suspended all its international flights in March 2020, due to travel restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. It resumed operations in October, before being momentarily slowed down again in December when a new variant of the virus emerged in the UK. Since then, "it has been committed to implementing a comprehensive and intensive safety program during and after all of its flights to ensure a safe and comfortable travel experience for its passengers," the airline said in a statement.

In Africa, Oman Air also serves Egypt, with three flights per week between Muscat and Cairo. Its international network also includes several services in Asia (Manila Bangkok, Guangzhou, Kuala Lumpur, etc.); in the Middle East (Doha, Kuwait, Bahrain…) and in Europe (Istanbul, Frankfurt, London).

Travelers to Oman must show a negative viral test performed within 72 hours before entering the country. They must also have health insurance. All travelers are also required to undergo a seven-day quarantine and pass another test on the eighth day after arrival.
