Burkina Faso: after Ouagadougou, Royal Air Maroc targets Bobo Dioulasso
Royal Air Maroc (RAM) aims to serve Bobo Dioulasso. This is what the representative of the Moroccan national company in Burkina Faso told the Burkinabè Minister of Transport, Urban Mobility and Road Safety.
Received in Ouagadougou by Vincent Timbindi Dabilgou, Joudat Reda told him that 15% of passengers transported on the Ouagadougou - Casablanca line of RAM (2 weekly flights), are from the western region of the country. The government member logically appreciated the initiative, and pledged to support it. According to Mr. Dabilgou, it is in line with the government’s policy to make Bobo Dioulasso International Airport (AIB) a hub.
"This route will allow the economic capital of Burkina Faso to connect to the rest of the world thanks to the vast network of RAM", writes his ministry. In addition to opening a proper route to Bobo Dioulasso, the carrier also wants to use the platform as a stopover airport for its Casablanca - Bamako line (6 trips per week). An alternate airport is a platform to which an aircraft can fall back if it is not possible to land at its original destination. The RAM envoy therefore pleaded for the opening of the platform 24 hours a day.
