In February 2020, the company inaugurated its headquarters in Benghazi, a port city in western Libya and the second most populous in the country. Born from the baptismal funds of the Bank of Commerce and Development of Benghazi, which owns 40% of the stakes, Berniq Airways wants to become a regional carrier of first rank in Libya and in the sub-region. For this, he intends to rely on Benghazi / Benina airport - destroyed by the war raging in Libya since the fall of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011 - and whose reconstruction work should accelerate soon.
