Afrijet restarts regional operations
Afrijet announced Tuesday, February 16, the resumption of its regional flights. This decision follows new measures taken a day earlier by the Gabonese government, which stipulate that "international flights operated by national companies are set at 02 frequencies per week, per destination and per company".
From its base in Libreville, Afrijet now offers two flights per week (Mondays and Fridays) to Yaoundé in Cameroon. Douala, the Cameroonian economic capital will also be served every Thursday and Sunday. On the same days, Afrijet will also connect São Tomé. From February 26, the Gabonese private carrier will open a route to Brazzaville (Mondays and Fridays).
The service from Pointe-Noire (Tuesdays and Thursdays) to the Congo will be effective from March 2. All these routes will be served with its ATR fleet which includes 3 ATR72 and 1 ATR42. It should be remembered that since January 30, Afrijet has also offered a regular cargo line connecting Libreville, Port-Gentil and Franceville every week.
For its freight operations, the IOSA certified transporter took delivery of an ATR72-500 all-cargo (msn 711) last September.”.
