TAAG - Linhas Aéreas de Angola successfully renews its IOSA certificate
The operations of TAAG - Linhas Aéreas de Angola remain in accordance with international standards. The Angolan national company has successfully passed an operational security audit (IOSA), carried out from February 22 to 25, reports Angolan news agency ANGOP.
Unfortunately, this certificate will only last for one year (until May 2022), instead of the usual two. For good reason, the audit was carried out remotely, due to the covid-19 pandemic. Remarkably, TAAG's result fell from 91.6% in 2019 to 96.6%. No operational security issues were detected.
The few anomalies observed are of an acceptable level. They are only related to organizational issues and documentary references. Logically, corrections have been prescribed in this regard. To deliver such certification, auditors verify compliance with more than 980 Standards and Recommended Practices (ISARPS) by the IOSA program in eight operational areas related to organization, quality, safety, flight operations, ground assistance, maintenance or even flight preparation. Established by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the IOSA certification confirms the compliance of any airline with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
