Camair-Co receives Embraer 135LR Camair-Co receives Embraer 135LR

After a difficult year 2020, Camair-Co finally relaunched its domestic flights on October 18. Along with the reconquest of its market shares, the Cameroonian carrier is working on rebuilding its fleet.

The Cameroon Airlines Corporation(Camair-Co) fleet is enriched with a new aircraft. The Cameroonian national company received this Sunday March 14, an Embraer 135LR with 37 seats(configured in a single class). Registered TJ-AKK, the aircraft was wet-leased from Cronos Airlines, a private Equatorial Guinean company.

The plane, already painted in Camair-Co colors, is currently parked at Douala International Airport. Its first commercial flight is scheduled for this week. This Embraer should contribute to the densification of the carrier's network. Moreover, this arrival comes three days before the resumption of public flagship flights to Bafoussam.

From March 17, Camair-Co will start 3 weekly connections (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) from and to the capital of the Western region. The company resumed its domestic trips on October 18, 2020, after the acquisition of a Boeing 737-300 (rented with crew, from the Ukrainian carrier Jonika). Camair-Co currently serves Yaoundé, Garoua and Maroua, in departure from Douala. With the troubleshooting and rectification of one of its two MA 60s, in December 2020, the company added Ngaoundéré to its network. The aircraft registered TJQDA is the only aircraft belonging to Camair-Co currently operational. The other MA 60 (TJQDB), which was shot on landing in Bamenda on December 1, 2019, remains unserviceable. This is also the case for the two Boeing 737-700s (since February 2019), and the B767-300 (since January 12, 2018). Thus, its return to the sub-regional lines should still wait.
