Uganda Airlines signs interline agreement with Emirates Uganda Airlines signs interline agreement with Emirates

On March 3, Uganda Airlines announced that it had obtained slots to serve the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates. It is precisely in the perspective of the imminent launch of flights to Dubai that the Ugandan national company has forged a commercial partnership with Emirates.

Uganda Airlines has initialed an interline agreement with Emirates. This is what the chairman and CEO of the Ugandan national company revealed on Friday (March 19th) in an interview with Uganda Broadcasting Corporation, the Ugandan public news group. According to Cornwell Muleya, this partnership now allows passengers of Uganda Airlines to continue their journeys on the Emirates network (with a single ticket), through its hub at Dubai International Airport (United Arab Emirates).

This collaboration comes after Uganda Airlines acquired slots to serve Dubai and London. “The process of obtaining traffic rights, foreign air operating permits and landing approvals at targeted destinations is progressing well. The start dates for operations to each destination will be announced soon,”the carrier said in a press release published on March 3.

These two future first long-haul lines will be served with its two Airbus A330-800neo. For the moment, the new aircraft, received on December 22, 2020 and February 2, 2021 respectively, are in the process of being certified with the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA). "This is a five-phase program, which, when completed, will result in these aircraft being added to the Uganda Airlines Air Operator Certificate (AOC)," the company says.

On transcontinental lines, Uganda Airlines also plans to serve Guangzhou and Mumbai.
