Mantis opening new mobile camp in Tanzania's Serengeti
Conservation-focused hotel group Mantis has announced it will be opening the new Siringit Migration Camp by Mantis in September 2021.
The mobile camp includes eight luxury guest tents (two of which can be linked) as well as separate dining and lounge tents. The camp will move every few months to follow the migration route of wildlife within the Serengeti National Park and give guests a front-row seat to an abundance of wildlife and one of the greatest natural seasonal wonders: the great migration.
"The great migration is on the bucket list of many international travelers, and we want to make the experience even more momentous by getting our guests as close as possible to the wildlife," said Paul Gardiner, the CEO of the Mantis Group. "We also wanted to ensure that our mobile camps leave the lightest possible ecofootprint without compromising on luxury.

The Siringit Migration Camp offers total privacy in the middle of the remote African savannah and guests can embrace the peace of this wilderness completely uninterrupted. As the precise timing of the Serengeti wildebeest migration is entirely dependent upon the rainfall patterns each year, the camp will track the migration moving from north to south to west as follows:
September-October: Northern Serengeti, Siringit Migration Camp Kogatende December-March: Southern Serengeti Ngorongoro, Siringit Migration Camp Ndutu May-June: Western Corridor, Siringit Migration Camp Kirawira
Each of the locations listed above has its own airstrip for guest arrivals and departures.
Unlike many mobile camps, the Siringit Migration Camp will be built on raised platforms (rather than the more commonly used ground mats) leaving a smaller footprint.
A stay at the camp includes morning and evening game drives; picnics, bush lunches and dinners; sundowner drinks; airstrip transfers; and free WiFi.
Rates start from $600 per person, per night, double occupancy. The game package rates are inclusive of accommodations, all meals and local beverages, laundry services, shared use of a 4x4 safari vehicle and the tourism levy of 1% and VAT.
