Airlink makes Kasane its 3rd destination in Botswana
Airlink, the largest airline in southern Africa, currently serves the Botswana cities of Gaborone and Maun. In the process of rebuilding its network, the airline has opted to intensify its offer in its most promising markets.
From April 2, Airlink will open a route from Johannesburg to Kasane. The private South African company announced it on social networks this Wednesday, March 31. It will offer 4 weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) between the South African megalopolis and the Botswanan city located in the northeast of the country, on the common border with Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe.
With the addition of Kasane, Airlink will now serve 3 destinations in Botswana.
Until then, the company links Johannesburg to Gaborone, and Johannesburg and Cape Town to Maun. Also as part of the densification of its network, the private flagship will now offer, from Thursday April 1, 3 daily flights between Johannesburg and Maputo(Mozambique) and 1 daily trip between Johannesburg and Lubumbashi (Democratic Republic of Congo).
In addition, Airlink reopened its Johannesburg - Maseru line on Monday March 29. Since then, the company has operated a daily flight to the capital of Lesotho. "This follows the reopening of Lesotho's borders and the lifting of travel restrictions which have reduced travel between neighboring countries, as they both worked to successfully contain the spread of the coronavirus", justifies the company.
