Air Burkina migrates to Amadeus to modernise its operations Air Burkina migrates to Amadeus to modernise its operations

Affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, like all the airlines in the world, Air Burkina is looking for ways and means to adapt to the current market realities. For a better automation of its processes, the Burkinabe public carrier has chosen software solutions from Amadeus, the E-travel giant.

Air Burkina's reservations, inventory, ticketing, payments and departure control are now done through the Amadeus Airline Platform software suite. Indeed, the national airline of Burkina Faso selected the Spanish company's platform on 30 June "to help it adapt to an evolving industry".

"We are delighted to have succeeded in migrating Air Burkina to Amadeus Airline Platform. Our team is extremely proud and excited to be working with Air Burkina to help the airline deliver a world-class operational environment, which translates into an excellent passenger experience. This includes the ability to seamlessly interconnect with key airline partners, which is vital for success," said Maher Koubaa, Amadeus Executive Vice President for Airlines in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa.   "Air Burkina is the third airline customer in Central West Africa to have chosen to migrate to Amadeus' passenger management system (PSS) in the last two years.

"The recent disruption to traffic and travel patterns due to Covid-19 has been extremely challenging, as it has been for other carriers. As a company, we decided to create stability out of unpredictability by working with Amadeus, to implement a new technology platform that benefits our customers and staff. We believe that increasing the level of automation in our operations will generate efficiencies, increase sales and help us deliver a quality experience to all," says Blaise Sanou, CEO of Air Burkina.

The migration of Air Burkina - which is in the process of being privatised - will be followed by the implementation of the Amadeus Departure Control systems (DCS) solution in July. "Enhanced customer loyalty management is also planned for the end of the year," the company promises. Air Burkina will also implement Amadeus' Digital Experience Suite, "to enable travellers to enjoy a first-class online shopping and flight booking experience".
