ISO 9001/2015 certification for Bafoussam Airport and the CCAA's Aviation Safety Department Institut
The services provided by the Directorate of Aviation Safety (DSA) of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) and the Bafoussam-Bamougoum Airport are in conformity with the ISO 9001-2015 standards.
Indeed, the Cameroonian civil aviation regulator received this Wednesday, July 21, the two related certificates. This was during a ceremony held at its headquarters, and chaired by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport, Mveimani Sombo Amba. This certification confirms the capacity of the staff of the DSA and all the related structures and supports to provide services in terms of audits, inspections, accompaniment and resolution of air safety problems in accordance with the expectations of the ICAO, but also to the specific needs of users of the air safety sector of the Cameroonian civil aviation. On the other hand, this sesame attests that a quality management system of the said service is put in place on the Bafoussam-Bamougoum platform, in accordance with ICAO expectations. And that it is recognised as capable of providing meteorological information services, aeronautical services, rescue and fire fighting (SLI) in accordance with the expectations of the users of the sky and, likely to bring satisfaction to all users of this airport. "Since May 2016, the CCAA top management has been committed to a quality approach according to the ISO 9001/2015 standard. The awarding of these two certificates by SGS, demonstrates the willingness of the State of Cameroon to provide aviation safety supervision services that meet international standards," says the Ministry of Transport. As a reminder, during the audit held from November 30 to December 4, 2020, three minor non-conformities and three areas for improvement were identified for the airport system, and four non-conformities and three areas for improvement for the safety supervision system. A corrective action plan has since been put in place.
