Air Mauritius to return to London in October
Air Mauritius resumed its international operations last week with the partial reopening of the country's air borders, effective since 15 July. The carrier is now in the process of gradually rebuilding its pre-pandemic network.
Air Mauritius will re-establish links with London, England in early October. The Mauritian airline plans to offer a weekly non-stop rotation between the Indian Ocean island country and the British capital.
From October 2, flights will take place every Saturday between Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport and London - Heathrow. The route will be operated by Airbus A330-900neo. The aircraft has a configuration of 28 seats in Business Class and 260 in Economy.
The Mauritius-London route is currently operated by Air France via Paris, France. Air Mauritius will also meet British Airways on this corridor which will resume flights from 13 August 2021 but from Gatwick Airport.
Depending on the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic in the world, Mauritius has been closing and temporarily reopening its borders since March 2020. A situation that logically impacts Air Mauritius obliged to suspend and relaunch its operations according to the decisions of the government. Since mid-July, the company - which recently parted with five aircraft - has gradually resumed its international flights to Paris, Mumbai, Johannesburg and Saint-Denis (Reunion Island).
