Binter strengthens its position in Mauritania with its E195-E2 Binter strengthens its position in Mauritania with its E195-E2

Binter Canarias has resumed flights to Mauritania in November 2020 following the easing of travel restrictions. For the summer period, the Spanish airline is increasing its offer to this favourite market.

The Spanish regional airline Binter Canarias has intensified its connections between the Canary Islands off the north-west coast of Africa and Mauritania. Since 17 July, the carrier has been operating two weekly rotations - on Wednesdays and Saturdays - between Gran Canaria and Nouakchott airports. This expansion of the schedule will be in effect until 25 September and is part of "the aim of actively contributing to maintaining connectivity and the economic recovery of both territories", the company's press release states.

The flights from Gran Canaria airport will be operated with Embraer E195 - E2 aircraft with a capacity of 132 seats in a single configuration. Binter Canarias competes on this corridor with Mauritania Airlines. Binter Canarias chose Mauritania as its first service in November 2020 to renew its ties with Africa. Before the pandemic, the carrier operated routes to four other African countries, namely Cape Verde, Gambia, Morocco and Senegal. Services to the latter two countries have since resumed.
