Kenya Airways returns to Mauritius with weekly flight
With the partial reopening of the Mauritian sky to international flights, many airlines are returning to the destination. This is the case of Kenya Airways which has announced its return to the Indian Ocean country from next week.
The airline of the SkyTeam alliance, Kenya Airways will resume its services to Mauritius from August 6th. It announced this in a tweet on 27 July.
The Kenyan flagship will offer without competition a flight every Friday between its base in Nairobi - Jomo Kenyatta and the airport of Port Louis - Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam. It will operate an Embraer 190 with a capacity of 12 seats in Business Class and 84 in Economy Class on this route.
It is worth recalling that before the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic, this route was also used by Air Mauritius. But the carrier has not yet resumed its services to Johannesburg, Mumbai, Reunion and Paris. It should also be noted that, so far, three international carriers, namely Air France, Emirates Airlines and Turkish Airlines, have resumed flights to Mauritius.
