Air Peace chooses Douala in Cameroon as its first destination in Central Africa
Today, Air Peace is the leading local carrier in Nigeria, both in terms of number of aircraft and cities served. Supported by the renewal of its fleet, the private company continues to grow its African and international network.
"Soon in the sky of Douala (Cameroon)". With this teaser, Air Peace has announced the imminent opening of a new route to the Cameroonian economic capital.
On its website, the first flight is scheduled for Thursday 19 August 2021. Once launched, this service will be the carrier's first route in Central Africa. To this sub-region, the private company is also targeting Libreville in Gabon.
From its base in Lagos, Air Peace already flies Accra, Banjul, Dakar, Freetown. In normal operations, it also connects Monrovia, Johannesburg, Sharjah and Dubai. But since the beginning of the year, these last three services have been disrupted due to changing travel restrictions related to the evolving pandemic.
As part of its expansion plan, Air Peace also plans to open new routes to Lomé, Libreville and Niamey. In long-haul flights, the airline is planning direct flights to London (UK), Mumbai (India), Tel Aviv (Israel), Houston and Atlanta (USA) and Guangzhou (China).
To support its operations, Air Peace has recently expanded its fleet with three Embraer E192-E2 aircraft. Its order book includes thirteen of the type with purchase rights for seventeen more. In addition, it operates a dozen Boeing 737ceo, two 777-300s, one 777-200 and eight ERJ145s (assigned to its younger subsidiary Air Peace Hopper).
