Air Mauritius has announced the resumption of its flights to Johannesburg. From October 1, the Mauritian national airline will offer a weekly non-stop rotation to the South African megalopolis.

Initially, the route will be operated every Friday, without competition, by Airbus A330-900neo. Flight MK851 will depart Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport at 09:15 and land in Johannesburg at 11:50 local time. On the return leg, flight MK852 will leave O.R. Tambo Airport at 13:35 and land in the Mauritian capital at 19:35 local time.

Since mid-July, the airline - which recently parted with five aircraft - has gradually resumed its international flights to Paris, Mumbai and Saint-Denis (Reunion Island). Its return to London is also scheduled for 2 October.


British Airways is also strengthening its services to the South African megapolis. From 16 August, the British carrier will offer two weekly flights, on Thursdays and Saturdays, between London-Heathrow and Johannesburg.  The route is currently operated without competition once a week by Boeing 777's. This twice weekly service will remain in place until 30 August. This twice-weekly service will remain in place until 30 August, after which the airline plans to operate daily flights on this corridor until 27 September.

British Airways is also strengthening its services to the South African megacity. From 16 August, the British carrier will offer two weekly flights on Thursdays and Saturdays between London Heathrow and Johannesburg.  The route is currently operated without competition once a week by Boeing 777.

This twice weekly service will remain in place until 30 August. Thereafter, the airline plans to operate daily flights on this corridor until 27 September.
