RAM returns to Montreal after a 2-month absence
In view of the current health situation, we inform our passengers that air services between Morocco and Canada will be resumed as of 29 October.
The announcement of this resumption comes two days after the Canadian Ministry of Transport, Transport Canada, lifted the suspension on the recommendation of the Public Health Agency of Canada.
"Given the improving situation regarding Covid-19 in Morocco, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) has recommended that Transport Canada lift the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) restricting flights directly from Morocco to Canada," said a Transport Canada press release issued on October 21.
In fact, "As of 00:01 a.m. on October 29, fully vaccinated travellers and unvaccinated travellers who are authorized to enter Canada will be able to take direct flights from Morocco to Canada," the release added.
However, travellers will be required to present either a negative PCR test result (performed within 72 hours prior to planned departure) or proof of a positive COVID-19 molecular test result performed within 14 to 180 days prior to planned departure to Canada in lieu of a negative test result. These results should be documented in the Moroccan COVID-19 PCR test certificate issued by the Government of Morocco and recognised by the European Commission.
Once effective, the resumption of this regular route will take place two months after its suspension on 29 August. On this strategic route for its operations, the carrier will redeploy its Boeing B787 Dreamliner fleet. Air Canada is also expected to announce its return to the route.
