Crystal Cruises shows off new submarine ahead of Cape Town cruise Crystal Cruises shows off new submarine ahead of Cape Town cruise

Crystal Cruises has debuted the submersible aboard its new explorer cruise ship Crystal Endeavour ahead of her upcoming South African cruise. Crystal Endeavour is one of the most luxurious expedition cruise ships in the world, and carries her own submersible for independent exploration.

The submersible aboard the new Crystal Endeavor made its debut in Antarctica on the ship’s first voyage from Ushuaia.

Guests aboard Crystal Endeavour were the first to venture several hundred feet under the sea to experienceincredible views of marine life beneath the icy waters.

No special equipment or gear is required in the two-person underwater vehicle (plus pilot) which takes guests on a undersea journey offering a truly unique way to experience and explore the icy polar region.

Crystal Endeavor is on the first of eight 11-day Antarctica voyages that depart from Ushuaia, Argentina and cross the famed Drake Passage before visiting the South Shetland Islands, the Weddell Sea, the Falkland Islands, and South Georgia.

On each itinerary, Crystal Endeavour will also spend ample time exploring the Antarctic peninsula, home to penguin colonies, seals, whales and seabirds. The program runs through February, 2022.

On March 1st, 2022, Crystal Endeavour will sail from Ushuaia to Cape Town on an 18-night voyage visiting The Falklands, South Georgia and Tristan Da Cunha.

She’ll then cruise from Cape Town to Tema on another voyage of 17-nights, visiting little-known ports on Africa’s west coast, where passengers can discover the world’s oldest desert where dunes meet the sea, national parks rich with wildlife and remote islands with forested jungles and a UNESCO-listed Biosphere.

She’ll spend two nights and three days in Cape Town, before setting off to call in Luderitz and Walvis Bay, Namibia, Luanda in Angola, Sao Tome and Principe islands, Benin and Togo, before ending the cruise in Tema, Ghana.

Crystal Endeavour’s cruises are different to a usual Crystal Cruise itinerary in that they are not only more exotic in terms of the destinations, but also more flexible with the itinerary.

Each Crystal Endeavor itinerary balances days at sea with scheduled ports of call, and is intentionally designed to be flexible, allowing for unplanned “expedition days” to be added when favorable weather conditions invite the opportunity for what the cruise line calls “uncommon discovery”.
